“The final corner before the speedy realization of the ILC” – ILC seminar

March 11, 2017

1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

A decision (for staging the ILC) was made recently after a large debate by ILC researchers at the Linear Collider Workshop. The non-partisan Federation of Diet Members for the ILC (FDMILC) have designated this yar as a crucial year for both the Diet and the national government (regarding the ILC). We are now quite close to a reality of hosting the ILC.

The LCWS was held in Morioka City last year and welcome hundreds of researchers from the rest of Japan and the entire world. It was a wonderful event, with a tour of the ILC candidate site, and became one more impetus to push the national government to make its decision.

We asked physicist Satoru Yamashita to give a lecture at this seminar as one of the core members fulfilling a central role in domestic and international negotiations. Prof. Yamashita has certainly not rested on his laurels since his special appointment as professor at the International Center for Elementary Particle Physics at University of Tokyo, and he will let us know what he’s been up to this past year.

We hope to see you there.
