For Realizing the ILC, Confirmed Cooperation between Japan and Spain: Tokyo Lecture by Iwate Pref. President, Others

A workshop for Japan-Spain collaboration on fusion and accelerators was held for the first time on May 13th in the Spanish Embassy at Japan in Roppongi, Tokyo. Researchers and business representatives from both countries confirmed they would cooperate to make the International Linear Collider project a reality.

The event was hosted by ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, with collaboration by other groups including AAA (the Advanced Accelerator Association Promoting Science and Technology, Tokyo). About 100 people attended.

Researchers from both Japan and Spain presented. The Japanese presentations were themed on the ILC, with Secretary General of AAA Mr. Masanora Matsuoka stressing that “We really want to make the ILC happen, so that Japan can continue to contribute to the world through science and technology.” Professor at University of Tokyo ICEPP Dr. Satoru Yamashita explained the current status of the ILC project.
