10 ALTs Registered as Supporters: Ichinoseki Working Towards ILC Realization

On September 17th, Ichinoseki City registered ten ALTs (Assistant Language Teachers) living in the city as Internationalization Supporters to receive advice and recommendations on internationalizing the city to prepare for the realization the International Linear Collider.

The registration issuing ceremony was held at Ichinoseki city hall, as ILC Promotion Division Director Junko Onodera gave certificates to eight participants who attended. The language teachers are from countries such as the United States and Canada who have lived in the city for various spans of time from five years to having just moved in this yaer.

After the ceremony, the ALTs had an information exchange session on how to make a city easy to live for foreign people. They gave their opinions based on experience on issues such as housing, nature and the environment, education, medical care and public transportation.
