Special ILC Talks at Coastal Elementary and Middle Schools with Professor Saito of JGU

On June 13th, the Iwate Prefecture ILC Promotion Council (Chairman Kunihisa Yamura) and Save Iwate of Morioka City (Board Chairman Yoshio Terai) started their series of special ILC talks in 13 elementary and middle schools including those on the coast. The classes on the newest science will go on until the 18th.

Professor Takehiko Saito of JGU in Mainz, Germany is acting as the lecturer. On the 13th, he taught classes in Taneishi Junior High School in Hirono and Kuji Elementary School and Natsui Middle School in Kuji.

At Natsui Middle School (Osamu Hiishi, 61 students), Professor Saito held a talk titled “I Love Iwate! Iwate Rocks!” explaining things like the beginning of the universe and previous extinctions.

Professor Saito said, “The ILC is a place where science will progress. Iwate could be on the cutting edge of science, and technology that could save humanity might be developed.”
