A training session was held on July 19th for a group of people chosen to be ILC Lecturers by the Morioka Regional Development Bureau (a branch of the Iwate government). Three people were selected in a public process to learn the basic facts about the ILC so that they could serve as lecturers during seminars on the ILC to be given during the 2019 fiscal year.

The three are:
-Kiyotada Sato, an IT Coordinator for the Morioka Regional Development Bureau
-Teruo Sawaguchi of the Iwate ILC Accelerator Science Promotion Conference based in Oshu City
-Satomi Fujisaki, staff at the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Iwate University
Also on the 19th, they visited the Iwate Industry Promotion Center in Kita-iioka, Morioka, in order to learn more about the ILC and particle colliders. Jun Sasaki, executive director of the Iwate Prefecture Office of Science and ILC Promotion, said, “It’s important that we create an environment where people will come and brainstorm with us on how to change this region using the ILC.”

The lecturers will visit KEK in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki in September, and will observe a seminar on the ILC in October.

Ms. Fujisaki vowed, “I hope that I can make the people of Iwate really see how will be the birthplace of new scientific developments.”
