Dr. Atsuto Suzuki, president of Iwate Prefectural University and former head of KEK, is a recipient of the 2016 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics, an award that is only given to researchers who have made considerable discoveries in the field of fundamental physics. In honor of this award, a special lecture will be held to commemorate the event.
