The Ichinoseki and Hiraizumi Boards of Education will hold an educational field trip of KEK in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture starting on August 8th. On July 23rd, a ceremony was held for the group and the students reaffirmed their pledge to dive into cutting edge science, with hope in their hearts for the ILC’s realization.

65 middle school students from Hiraizumi and Ichinoseki gathered for the ceremony at the Ichinoseki Cultural Center in Daito. Ichinoseki Mayor Osamu Katsube passionately encouraged the students, saying “Imagine how Ichinoseki will change when you are adults and the ILC has been made a reality. Be inspired during your trip.”

The students and leaders, 73 people in total, will study and experience KEK and JAXA on a two night, three day schedule from the 8th to the 10th of August.
